Yanfolila Gold Mine - Plant Expansion Project

We conducted comprehensive geotechnical and material testing to support informed design and quality assurance, including:

Foundation testing using DCPT and in-situ density methods to assess ground bearing capacity.
Concrete testing through slump and shear strength evaluations to ensure structural integrity.
Laboratory testing of soil samples, covering CBR, moisture content, and density relationships for accurate subgrade characterization.

These tests played a crucial role in guiding construction decisions and ensuring long-term performance of the infrastructure.

Keniendife Road Construction Project

We provided end-to-end quality control services for a major road construction project, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and long-term durability.

Our scope included:

Concrete mix design and testing, optimizing workability and strength based on site requirements.
Foundation testing to evaluate subgrade strength and compaction using in-situ methods.
Comprehensive materials testing on aggregates, soils, and binders to validate their suitability for road layers.

Yanfolila Gold Mine -TSF Stage 4 Construction

Since 2019, AES has played a vital role in the development of this multi-staged Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) in collaboration with Hillerton Consulting Ltd. Our contributions to Stage 4 of the TSF have focused on ensuring construction integrity, design compliance, and performance monitoring.

Our services included:

Construction QA/QC for embankment and associated works
On-site laboratory management for soil, aggregate, and concrete testing
Design review and adaptation to field conditions
Topographic and control surveys for layout accuracy and volume tracking
Installation of Vibrating Wire Piezometers (VWPs) for real-time pore pressure monitoring
Survey monument installation to support long-term dam monitoring and deformation tracking

Our involvement continues to contribute to safe tailings management, compliance with international standards, and informed decision-making through accurate data and quality control.

AES personnel have been actively involved in the development and monitoring of this multi-staged Tailings Storage Facility (TSF) since 2019, working in close collaboration with our partner, Hillerton Consulting Ltd.

For Stage 5, our team provided integrated field and technical support including:

LEFA TSF 2 STAGE 1 CONSTRUCTION
